ABOUT ECO-TOURISM AT APFDC
Andhra Pradesh Forest Development Corporation Limited (APFDC), provides Eco-tourism facilities to Nature Lovers, Bird Watchers, Wildlife Enthusiasts etc. Eco-tourism is a unique kind of tourism involving visiting fragile, pristine, and relatively undisturbed natural areas, intended as a low-impact and often small scale alternative to standard commercial mass tourism. It means responsible travel to natural areas conserving the environment and improving the well-being of the local people. Its purpose is to educate the traveler on importance Ecological conservation, Environment Protection to directly benefit the economic development and political empowerment of local communities, or to foster respect for different cultures and for human rights.
WHAT IS ECO-TOURISM?
In short, Eco-tourism can be categorized as unique tourism programme that is – “Nature based, Ecologically sustainable, where education and interpretation is a major constituent and where local people are benefited.” APFDC has plantation of various species likes Pepper ,Coffee, Cashew, Teak ,Bamboo and some medicinal plants. Visitors can see the total life cycle of each plantation at various destinations of APFDC. . In Suryalanka Nature visitors can see and appreciate the MiyaWaki Forests, Cashew Plantations, Nature Interpretation Centre etc.
